There are plenty of fun facts and myths about breastfeeding out there which we thought we would share with you in this post.
Fact 1: Breast size has nothing to do with milk production
Larger breast size may mean there is a larger amount of fatty tissues. The glandural (milk producing) tissue is what matters.
Fact 2: Children who are breastfed have a lower rate of certain illnesses as they grow up
Some of these certain illnesses may include asthma, diabetes and childhood obesity.
Fact 3: Breastfeeding saves a family approximately 2-4 thousand dollars annually
It’s amazing how much formula milk costs. Breastfeeding is essentially free so this may save you approximately $2-4 thousand a year compared to if you buy formula milk instead.
Fact 4: Breastfeeding can help mothers return to their pre-baby weight
Producing milk is hard work. The process burns approximately 1000 calories a day!
Fact 5: Breastfeeding exposes your baby to many different tastes
Whatever mum eats will transfer on to the flavour of her breastmilk.
